Yaw’s Roast & Grill (Gerbang Midlands)

Yaw’s Roast & Grill (Gerbang Midlands)

YAW’S ROAST AND GRILL

Paiseh, now only is my first time paying visit to this restaurant which is formerly known as Top Top. It was an impromptu visit.

I guess if the restaurant is operating in a residential house, then I could assume the price to be reasonable?!

Luckily I managed to finish up my meal before the sky turned dark.

The garlic bread was so-so. No umph for me.

The mushroom soup in chicken pie style. Chicken pie’s ingredients were placed inside the soup instead.

Wo! Having this alone is enough to fill up my stomach already. Not an ordinary ‘soup’ but full of ingredients.  [...]

Deluxcious Hotel.Spa.Restaurant is Launching Dinner, Lunch and Hi-Tea Buffet!

Deluxcious Hotel.Spa.Restaurant is Launching Dinner, Lunch and Hi-Tea Buffet!

Deluxcious is launching Dinner / Lunch and Hi-Tea Buffet starting on 30th September 2011.

I was told that for dinner buffet, you can order as many plates of main courses (scroll down to see the menu) as you like except No.77 to No.83 e.g. the cod fish, beef and lamb (which are going to remain as ala-carte orders). At the buffet stream, soup, salad and dessert will be served like usual buffet style. Drinks available will be skyjuice. In order to suit the buffet theme, the main courses that you order will be around one-third (1/3) of the usual serving size, thus you can afford to order as many dishes as you like to try out the taste.

*Don’t forget to share with me your visit on the buffet in the comment column below ok?! Thanks ya!*

Deluxcious is located strategically in the hub of Georgetown at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, opposite the KWSP (beside Citibank). It is previously more well-known to me as ‘a restaurant that also provides spa cuisine package’. Now alongside with the opening of Deluxcious Hotel in early September 2011, here it comes the fiery hot launching of dinner/lunch/ hi-tea buffet!

This is the quaint heritage building where the spa cuisine is offered. A colonial mansion in 19 century style.

It looks gorgeously outstanding during night time. [...]

Delicious of Straits Quay Maintaining Its Standard

Delicious of Straits Quay Maintaining Its Standard

It was eve of Merdeka Day. With advanced booking also we need to queue up in order to get into the restaurant at 1pm sharp! :)  Just imagine how popular this restaurant is among the Penangites now!

We consisted of ~16pax were there for a short gathering.  Mind you, due to the mess in handling the kids and also busy on catching up with each other, I only managed to snap some of the dishes ordered.

Pan Seared Cod Fish  RM48.90++

Their pan seared cod fish tasted good with the accompanied sweet and sourish sauce, not too overwhelming.  The texture of the cod fish was cooked till just nice, not too dry and thus maintaining its firmness. I would consider this dish as a worthy meal with big serving portion. As you can see here, a lot of  fried potato cubes were there too. :)

English Fish N Chip (RM29.90++)

I was also satisfied with their Fish n Chip. Hidden inside the thin crispy layer was white juicy fish fillet.  The most important thing is that I didn’t feel oily at all. It appears to be so healthy, if minus out the fries and mayonnaise!  :)

Mushroom Soup (RM13.90++)

Blended mushrooms were tasted in every scoop.

The rest of the dishes did not receive any complaints too! Therefore I would assume that we have chosen a restaurant that served all good and right if forget about the price! Ha! :p [...]

De Title Dining Cabin (Invited Review)

De Title Dining Cabin (Invited Review)

Apart from the Lorong Selamat’s Char Koay Teow, did you notice there is one PURPLE building there?

Yes, this is another new one (not too new though, already half year old since Dec last year), a restaurant run by two young ladies who have traveled around the world in search of recipes.

Their passion can be seen from every décor in the premise wihich is self-decorated. If you are observant enough, then you will notice that every exterior window frame is made of different design too!

Downstair dining area.

The wall alongside the staircase.

They have many menus. One for 1st & 3rd wk, one for 2nd & 4th wk;  and further divided into Lunch and Dinner. It’s kind of confusing for me! I shall slip in part of the menu in between photos as reference (only).

This restaurant is one of the few restaurants that never use MSG. Most of their sauces are homemade too!

Well, you don’t get shocked when you see the LONGGGGGGGGG list of sauce choices in their menu (scroll till the btm).

Homemade Mushroom Soup - A version with many types of mushrooms blended into one. [My rating : 8/10]

Pizzaiola
Veggie Pizzailo RM9.90
Chicken Ham Pizzailo RM13.90
Beef Pepperoni Pizzailo RM14.90

Chicken Ham Pizzailo with Roti Canai Base (RM13.90) – Chicken Ham + Pineapple + Sweet Corn [My rating : Nil, no chance to taste :) ]

James Foo Western Food

Finally I was able to squeeze into this restaurant after driving past there thrice.  It always looks FULL HOUSE mah!

This premise is far more comfortable and eye-catching than the old one.

Modern and hygienic interior deco.

Under the same pricing standard, I would definitely opt for this restaurant rather than ‘the other one nearby’. :)

Still, under such ‘comfortable’ ambience, NO additional charges (service tax/gov tax) is imposed. THIS IS THE BEST!

Blackcurrent Jumbo RM5.50 / Chrysanthemum tea RM1.50

Real big! See? Big jumbo glass which is taller than the chilli sauce bottle.

Fresh Oxtail Soup RM8.00 (only served during weekends). Two pcs of tender oxtail rings in this bowl.

Accompanied with potatoes and carrots. Hmm……bei pai leh! [...]
