Soon Long (顺龙茶室)Yam Rice

Soon Long (顺龙茶室)Yam Rice

I do not know why Soon Long is getting more customers than the unit beside it. Whenever I go there during weekends, the crowd is can be seen very obvious at Soon Long, almost full house all the time BUT not its neighbour. Can somebody tell me? :)

What I like the most of this stall is I NEED NOT ASK FOR TOPPING UP THE SOUP. :)  They are very alert, always ready to top upfor you when you are halfway eating.

I like its yam rice for being fragrant with big chunks of yam.

I did not ditch any ingredients.  I ordered “Semua Mau” version with add-on (pig blood).

The ingredients including pig liver, heart, blood, intestines, stomach; kiam chai, chiak bak and fish balls. [...]

Clarke Street Koay Theow Thng

Clarke Street Koay Theow Thng

I managed to have a bowl of koay theow thng here before it is closed for Nine Emperor Gods festival (九皇爷).

Nowadays I no longer can tolerate eating those ‘regular’ size of hawker food. :(  I will either go for Medium/Large or ‘kae liao’ (add ingredients) size.

This one is ‘Add Ingredients’ size (duck’s blood)  (RM4.00)

I regard this stall of KTT as suitable for those who are ‘far sum’ (hokkien : hua sim (花心). Why?! coz one gets to eat many types of ingredients in one bowl of  koay theow thng! :)

Different types of fish and meat balls. [...]

Chee Meng Wanton Mee – Delicate & Mini!

I couldn’t help myself from hunting for this wanton mee immediately after reading posts detailed by GourmetGarden here (Chinese) and here (English). Also earlier written by CK here.

Coincidentally I was at town therefore I managed to go there 3 times within 2 weeks! :)

Look at the price list. One item caught my attention here!

Pricing List
S = RM2.50, M = RM2.80, L = RM3.00, Special (加料) = RM3.30
Sui Kao 水饺 = RM0.60 per piece
You Cai 油菜 (S) = RM1.00, (M) = RM2.00
Cheng Tong 清汤 (Clear soup) = RM0.30 per bowl (Hohoho!!!! This must be indicating that the soup is ‘valuable’ enough to charge customers uh?!)

Small RM2.50 (1 roll of noodles + basic portion of ingredients, 2x wanton)

Seriously after tasting both versions, I prefer the white version more! This version could bring out the genuine flavour of their wanton noodles.

Basically it tasted sweet. I enjoyed eating the noodles at minimal seasoning  and of course with the fragance of roast pork oil.

Their wanton(s) are mini in size. Every ingredient here is mini/little as the key actor lies on the noodles lah!

The taste is somewhat similiar to Sarawak Kolok Mee  BUT then Kolok Mee nowadays mostly come with very heavy lard taste, very oily and not as fragant as this one loh. [...]

Kangsar Road Koay Theow Thng

Koay Teow Th’ng @ Tong Hoe Kopitiam, Kangsar Road.

Duck Meat Koay Teow Th’ng (S = RM2.50, M = RM3.00, L = RM3.50)

This is the BIG (RM3.50) serving. One glance at it, you can see that this BIG one does’t add much in ingredients but koay teow and noodles only.

Duck meat, fish ball and duck blood.

Pork ball too. [...]

Seng Thor Kopitiam Wanton Mee

Seng Thor Kopitiam (成都茶室) Wanton Mee @ Lebuh Kimberley

I stumbled upon this Wan Than Mee stall one afternoon while I was hungrily driving around the town running some errands. Since then, I started to miss IT days and nights. :)

It is located at the Seng Thor Kopitiam. Open for afternoon session only (after 11 am to 5pm). The stall owner claimed that his closing days will follow the fried oyster stall.

Small RM2.50, Medium RM3.00, Big RM3.40.

The photos below showing medium size serving + add wanton (total RM3.40 per plate).

I personally felt that the fine noodles (eu mee) here are not as good as the flat noodles (chor mee) below.

From the first visit, I saw a lot of people ordering chor mee (flat noodles) and I did. Ever since then, I have never gone for second option.

From the external look, the wantons look solid and good (賣相佳) leh!  In actual, YES! [...]
