Soup – No, this is not what we expected but we won’t be surprised it’s being served so since this is a value meal. The soup is ‘instant’ type, got it?!

Set I = Mexi Chicken Ham Spaghetti

Set D = Drunken Chicken Noodle. Yup, it’s instant noodle. Again, like the rice set, the noodle serving is small if compared to the drunken chicken.

Set C = Drunken Chicken Rice . This time we ‘seng muk’ already, ADD RICE! Additional bowl rice is charged at RM1 each. Six of us sharing three bowls. “Hmm…….macam ini lah baru FULL….”

This corner (counter items) is a little bit beh khi.


Winter melon soup, pretty oily. Why not serving some lou for tong uh?

GREEN TEA is totally beh khi. Not only the colour is out, it has no green tea taste at all.

This is the ONE! This has been served as my drink instead. I had a few bowls of this.

Cold Cut (冷盤) – all the cold dishes tasted good!

Chuan Hua Fish (川花魚) -forgot to take photo! This one tasted very good! Recommended!

Hong Xiang Spicy Lamb (紅香辣味羊) [1 serving]- This one also not bad.

Japanese Yaki Udon ( 日式烏冬麵) [1 serving] – This one VERY beh khi! From this dish alone, I know it’s not that en tao chef who cooked one! Hmm! No Jap feel and very salty.

Daily Steamed Fish ( 每日蒸魚) [for 1 serving] – So So only.

Due to the waiting time is too long for this dish, we ended up had multiple orders.

Salmon Teriyaki (照燒鮭魚) [1 serving] – Pretty good.

Salmon No.1 (鮭魚第一號) [1 serving] – Pretty good too. Fresh salmon.

Motoyaki Scallop ( 辣味扇貝) - How can we skip ordering this?! Juicy medium size.

Mix Tempura ( 盛合天婦羅) [1 serving] – Not bad at all.

Red Dragon Golden Squid & Prawn (火龍雙鮮) [1 serving] - so so only. Too sweet.

Agedashi Tofu (日式炸豆腐) [1 serving] – Pretty good!

Sawa Kani Tempura (炸小蟹) [1 serving] – No good. The flour is too thick OH NO!

In overall it’s an enjoyable meal! Since there are only four of us AND none of us are buffet-stomached, we couldn’t afford to eat a lot actually.

The buffet concept is same like TAO Japanese Restaurant. We had the same THIRSTY experience here, just like what we had after eating at TAO. Perhaps we ate too much of Hotzz Abalone (熱熱鲍魚片) and Motoyaki Scallop ( 辣味扇貝)?!

Tutti Frutti Restaurant @ Tesco Extra Sungai Dua.

I would like to compare Tutti Frutti Drunken Chicken vs Max Gourmet BBQ Honey Sauce Chicken Chop here since I was having chicken and chicken for the consecutive two days.

I like Tutti Frutti since the day when it was first opened at Bukit Jambul. Of course, the outlet has then been moved to Sungai Dua a few years ago and has diversified their menu too. What impressed me most is the quality of its old aged dish, Drunken Chicken still remains as good as last time. Another dish that I like is its Ice-Ice Noodles.

Drunken Chicken Rice @ RM7.90 nett
The chicken is delicious with its special homemade ‘black’ sauce which I think is considered as pretty ‘trademark’ one. (I think it’s far more special than the Max Gourmet’s BBQ Honey Sauce which tasted plain sweet only (scroll below)).

I have always wanted to ask for more rice whenever I ate this plate of drunken chicken (but never did lah! paiseh lah as where got people asking for ‘more rice’ one when eating such kind of meal hor?! )

Do take note that this black pepper version served @ Tutti Frutti is more spicy than ordinary ones. For me, I cannot tahan loh.

What a waste if come here and never order their frutti shake right?! Back to their old days at BJ, the price of Tutti Frutti’s drinks has always been considered at high side already compared to their dishes (imagine the old days when Secret Recipe, Segafredo and etc are not yet that popular yet).

I personally felt that it’s a worthy meal but then the chicken is lacking of ‘trademark’ taste loh. I love its side dish, kerabu salad though. It’s super appetizing and yummy with lots of onions and topped with ‘special’ sauce.

Melting Pot serves steamboat mainly. It also serves ala carte but pretty limited choices. It has opened for quite long (years?) but I’ve never stepped into it until one fine day I was sicked of eating economic rice again.

I was pretty impressed with its Chicken Chop. Surprisingly it is tender and actually nice to go along with its special gravy. Unlike those normal chicken chops which is either deep fried till super OILY or just a piece of chicken with fried skin and dry texture in within. I also liked their garlic buns, they were soft in whole and just slightly crispy at outer skin. FYI, I really hate ROCK buns one leh …. that reminded me of SMOKY JACK. Hmmm!
