Teluk Kumbar Seafood Restaurant (公巴好友海鮮)

On Merdeka-eve, I brought Rachel to Hao You for a simple dinner at around 6.30pm before sending her off to airport. Mind you, we had our lunch at ~3.00pm oh! :)

Kung Pou Fried Paddy Chicken

Not very spicy although it was kung pou style, the paddy chicken flesh was juicy and solid though.

Fried Teochew Mee Tiao

They did not serve yellow noodle, only teochew mee tiao. Hmm……kinda special, fried in dry version with seafood ingredients. Rachel liked it very much!

Goh Teo Kee Restaurant @ Sungai Nibong

We (a total of 13x) chose RM398+ set menu (for 10-12 persons).

Teo Kee Signature Four Season

Brocolli Braised Australian Fresh Scallop Roe

Famous Stuffed Sea Cucumber . A bit disappointed on this, I would rather eat sea cucumber without stuffed meat.

Steamed Pomfret

Deluxe Scallop XO Sauce Tofu

Fresh Sea White Prawn
Special Yin Yang Chicken

Siam Crispy Pork Trotter . It’s very dry. This is the only dish that was not ‘cleared’.

Oriental Fried Rice (Ala carte)

Double Boiled Toddy Palm in Soya Milk .

Total bill = RM398 set + RM24(oriental fried rice) =RM422 + 5% = RM443.10

Goh Teo Kee @ Sungai Ara

Last Friday poon tiuk! Lunch treat at Goh Teo Kee by Taukeh Ong.

Shou Tao Bao (壽桃包) – wrapped within is lotus seed paste, best eaten when served hot.

Not as radiant or colourful as I expected for a combo dish (拼盤) but the taste is satisfactory.

Shark Fin Soup (additional request).

I remember the shark fin I had during last visit here made me thirsty right immediately after some time. This round, NOPE!

Braised pork mushroom with man tou. Delicate serving.

I was scared when seeing this soup at the first glance. Remember my phobia back in Wang Chao?!
Each person was served with black chicken fish maw herbal soup. I was very impressed with the generous amout of fish maw (花膠) being served by Goh Teo Kee. Three THICK SLICES, well stewed.

Fried Prawn.

Assorted Vege.

Steamed Cod Fish.

Lotus Leaf Fried Rice.

Dessert.

Total bill ~RM660. For 11 pax.

收工宴 @ Goh Teo Kee (Sg Ara)

I was lucky enough! Poon tiuk leh (噴到咧)! This is the RM4++ package belanja by Mr.O.

I was very impressed with the dessert! Unlike the usual soya milk with tang yuan, this soya milk came with sea coconut (海底椰) & white fungus (白木耳). Wah…..they matched very well indeed!

Another two meals like this are queuing up within a week oh. I need to eat cautiously before I lie flat on the floor. :)

Bak mee sua @ Sin Kim Sua kopitiam , Macalister Road.

I coudn’t believe it! I have blogged about the relau one but not a single post belongs to the Sungai Ara one. How could that have happened uh?! I have never blogged out the Sungai Ara seafood porridge (Bak Moi/Bak Mee Sua) before meh?! Oh mine…. My visit to there must be too frequent last time until I treated it as common.

FYI, the old couple’s stall was once at relau ‘triangle’, then they ‘retired’ for a few years, then back to ‘open stall’ at Sungai Ara Taman Taimima here.Anyway, the main role is the Bak mee sua @ Sin Kim Sua kopitiam for this post. It is good and the soup base is ‘sweeter’ & thicker. Unlike the the Relau one, it is more plain.

The lor duck and teochew tau hu @ HK dim sum kopitiam : No need to recommend too lah. If you get tired of bak kut teh soup, try ordering the mixed ingredients with soup one. It is super good!

The HongKong chee cheong fun @ HK dimsum kopitiam : Lao ji hoe liao lah this one, no need to recommend futher. It’s exceptionally good. The only difference is every time comes also see the price increases leh. *-*
