Last week I went to Pappa Rich for two days consecutively. My rating for the food is : 80% beh khi.

Now only I realized I should have appreciated more on Apex @ Queensbay area.

Pappa Energy Detox Tea with Honey (RM5.90+) , Teh C Hot (RM2.80+)

It’s basically like ceylon tea + honey. I do not know what is the DETOX about? For me, it tasted pretty weird and bitter at the first sip. I wonder where did the honey taste go?

The Teh C was milder than Old Town one.

Pappa Curry Laksa Special with Foo Chok (RM9.90+), Pappa Curry Laksa (RM8.90+)

TOOOOOOOOOOOO lemak liao! Really like eating / drinking curry. This was stated at the first page of the menu therefore I thought it must be something like their signature dish uh?! Oh no……I swear I’ll never order this again, even if it’s given FOC.

It has been ages since I last stepped into Old Town.

Wow! New posh menu with lots of dishes introduced. Egg noodles, steamed bread series, chicken rice/ Hainanese chicken chop rice, steamed rice series, roti canai series and etc. New drinks are available too (cendol series & etc). Hurray!

White Coffee (RM3.50++) at Old Town Queensbay.

Nasi Lemak Special (RM7.90++). This one exists in the old menu.

but you should now notice that the portion of the chicken served has been greatly reduced. Argh! [...]

I frequent Apex mainly because of its cozy cooling ambience and their Benggali Bread series! Not fancy on any of their food though.

I could not find any other similar kopitiams (which I need not mention their names here) that serve benggali bread like APEX does.

I particularly love its Peanut & Butter Toast! Look carefully at the price, RM3.80! Orrrghhh! CKA leh!

Now, compared with this one, Kaya & Butter Toast priced at RM1.80. There is a Two-Ringgit difference oh!!! [...]

Seafood Marinara with Iced Tea (RM16.90 nett)

Iced Tea. (I guess you better order coffee lah as this is not a good choice)

Pretty ’small’ serving of seafood marinara. Not too sourish, it’s pretty OK though. [...]

Home’s Cafe @ D’Piazza Mall, Bayan Baru.

This place is cooler than the Old Town nearby. We always ended up going somewhere else due to it’s tough to get group seats for our gang during lunch hours.

White Coffee (RM2.60). Not bad! The Home’s Cafe brand coffee has always been someone’s favourite 3-in-1 coffee. The Hazelnut one will be even more fragant after bancuh.

Teh Tarik (RM3.40) , Kaya Butter Toast (RM2.40). I was surprised to find that the toast is actually not bad, impressed.

Ipoh Hor Fun (RM5.90). Totally beh khi. Cannot compare with Old Town one at all. Why?! The taste was really one kind, most probably from the hor fun that was not being washed properly. The serving is big but with this weird taste, I definitely won’t be back for THIS.

Boiled Eggs (RM2.00), Mushroom soup (RM4.00) . Mushroom was so so, instant type. Boiled eggs, hmm….they let you crack the eggs yourselves. I like it this way.
