Caffe Strada (Invited Review)

Update : This restaurant has been renamed to ‘Caffe de Strada’.

A bunch of us were invited to Caffe Strada last Sunday. The restaurant owner stressed that Caffe Strada is not a FINE DINING restaurant but rather a place to get together with family or friends, for spending quality time and having a simple dishes or two.

Appetizer

Green Garden Salad (RM8.90)
-Lettuce, capsicum, onion, croutons, sun flower, seed, egg and smoked chicken, served with house salad dressing.

Seafood Chowder in Bread Bowl (RM15.90)
-Chunks of seafood are simmered with potatos, onions, celery, real heavy cream and a touch of butter. Served in bread bowl.

Asian Delights

Kung Pao Chicken (RM9.90)
-Stir fried with kung pao sauce, served with cashew nuts, fried egg, prawn crackers and rice.

Kam Heong Seafood Combo (RM8.90)
-Stir fried with kam heong sauce, served with prawn crackers, fried egg and rice.

Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice (RM8.90)
-Served with prawn crackers, fried egg and chicken wing.

Bao Zhiang Mien (RM11.90)
-Noodle in house-blended gravy, with minced chicken and 3-colored vegetables.

Tomyam Seafood (RM8.90)
-A choice of bee hoon or instant noodles.

Spaghetti Bolognese (RM9.90)
-Spaghetti with minced chicken in traditional bolognese saucce.

Club Sandwich (RM12.90)
-A sandwich composed of three toasted slices of bread with a filling of smoked chicken breast, cheese, tomato, onion, lettuce and dressing, Served with chips and coleslaw.

Caffe Strada Roast Chicken (RM13.90)
-Roasted 1/4 chicken in fragance brown sauce. Add RM5 for 1/2 chicken. Served with corn, steamed vege and mashed potato.

Mongolian Chicken (RM15.90)
-Grilled chicken coated with spicy Mongolian sauce.

Cheezy Grilled Chicken (RM17.90)
-Grilled chicken in melted parmesan and mozzarella cheese, sprinkled with herbs.

Grilled Butter Fish (RM19.90)
-Gilled butter fish in butter sauce and lemon. Served with corn, steamed vege and mashed potato.

Fish and Chip (RM8.90)
-Deep fried fish fillet in golden crumbs. A choice of tartare sauce or onion mayonnaise dressing. Served with coleslaw and chips.

Grilled Lamb Shoulder (RM19.90)
-Lamb chop marinated with butter and mint grilled to perfection. Served with mint sauce.

Espresso (Caffe= single shot espresso RM4.90, Caffe Doppio =double shot espresso RM5.90)

In overall, I found that the food and drinks served in Caffe Strada were average. It’s an ideal place for having friends’ gathering though.
